The Corporate Council on Africa has said
it plans to advance trade, investment and business engagement between
the United States and Nigeria.
In a statement, it said that some of
Nigeria’s wealthiest businessmen shared their current business
objectives and expansion efforts across Africa with the CCA.
The statement said, the President and
Chief Executive Officer, African Media Agency/ CCA, Ms Florizelle Liser,
and West Africa Director, CCA, Mr Ekenem Isichei, met with CCA board
members, Mr Aliko Dangote and Mr Jim Ovia, and invited them to speak at
the upcoming US-Africa business summit in June in Maputo, Mozambique.
Part of the statement read, “Liser met
with key stakeholders in the public and private sectors during her
recent visit to Kenya and Nigeria.
“This was part of the ongoing effort to
promote the upcoming US-Africa business summit in Maputo, Mozambique and
advance trade, investment and business engagement between the United
States and Nigeria.”
It stated that the CCA, a Washington
DC-based organisation, is a US business association focused solely on
connecting business interests between the United States and Africa.
“CCA uniquely represents a broad
cross-section of member companies from small and medium-size businesses
to multinationals as well as US and African firms,” the statement read.
